Lesson 64. Consistency Beats Intensity: How to Move Your Mountain

March 13, 2026 by Alex Rășcanu Leave a Comment

Hi friend,

We all have one. That single, looming challenge that feels less like a hurdle and more like a brick wall.

Maybe for you, it’s a mountain of financial debt that keeps you up at night. Maybe you’ve been job hunting for six months, and the silence from recruiters is starting to feel personal. Perhaps it’s a health crisis, or the emotional weight of supporting a loved one through their own dark valley. Or maybe it’s that goal, that professional certification or personal milestone, that you’ve been chasing for years only to feel like you’re running in place.

You’re doing your best. You’re making bits of progress here and there. But it’s not happening the way you hoped.

Here is how we move the mountain:

  1. Identify the Single Biggest Barrier

Stop looking at the whole mountain. Look at the specific rock blocking the path. What is the one thing most responsible for your lack of momentum? Name it.

  2. Define the “Micro-Step”

Once you’ve identified the barrier, identify one specific, small step you can take today. Not a leap, but a step. It could be researching a solution, reading one chapter of a technical book, or auditing your spending for the last 30 days.

  3. Commit 15 Minutes in Your Calendar

This is where the magic and the hard work happen. Open your calendar right now.
Allocate 15 to 30 minutes every single day for the next 30 or, ideally, 100 days. This time is non-negotiable. During this window, you are doing nothing but making progress on that specific goal.
    – If it’s financial: Spend that time cutting expenses or generating new revenue streams.
    – If it’s professional: Spend it studying for that certification or refining your outreach.
    – If it’s a crisis: Spend it researching solutions and providing direct support.

The View from 100 Days Out

It’s easy to underestimate what 15 minutes a day can do, but consistency is a force multiplier.

When you look back 30 or 100 days from now, you will be surprised. You’ll realize that the “insurmountable” challenge has been pushed aside. You’ll see that you’ve either achieved the goal or made such significant progress that the finish line is finally in sight.

Commit to daily progress. Track it. Review it. You have the potential to reach exactly where you need to be. You just need to make progress, 15 minutes at a time.

Thank you for taking the time to read and reflect.

Until next time,
Alex Rășcanu
