👋 Hey, I’m Alex Rășcanu

I’m an executive leader, community educator, and board director based in Toronto. My work centers on building purpose-driven organizations, stewarding public and community impact, and empowering people through education, mentorship, and thoughtful strategy.

I hold a Master of Public Administration from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toronto. Over the past 15 years across the non-profit, public, and private sectors, I have focused on aligning mission with operational excellence—coaching high-performing teams, managing complex budgets, and creating environments where communities learn and thrive.

A few highlights of my work:

• Executive & Operational Leadership: Directing enterprise operations, digital strategy, and team development in post-secondary education, supporting a community of over 30,000 students.
• Community Education & Civic Engagement: Curating and facilitating ExperienceTO, a free public history and educational walking tour initiative connecting thousands of residents to Toronto’s civic and cultural heritage.
• Governance & Fiduciary Stewardship: Providing executive governance, financial oversight, and strategic direction on boards including Heritage Toronto, the University of Toronto’s Governing Council, and Dalhousie University’s Budget Advisory Committee.
• Fundraising & Stakeholder Relations: Leading revenue development, corporate partnerships, and major donor campaigns for organizations such as Ronald McDonald House Charities Toronto and The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
• Policy & Systems Impact: Advising federal and provincial government ministries on workforce development, labour mobility, and inclusive employment frameworks.

Outside the boardroom and the office, I am passionate about lifelong learning, public education, and bringing people together through active community dialogue.
