Lesson 21: Reset in Nature

May 11, 2025 by Alex Rășcanu Leave a Comment

“Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.” (John Muir)

In the midst of deadlines, screens, and back-to-back obligations, it’s easy to drift from what truly matters.

I’ve found that spending time in nature, even just for an hour, acts like a reset button.

Whether it’s a walk in the woods, a moment by the lake, or feeling the sand between your toes, the natural world has a unique way of silencing the noise and helping us refocus.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck, stepping into nature may prove to be an effective strategy to recharge.

Here are three ways you can put this into action:

  1. Join Us on May 31 for Experience The Beach
The next #ExperienceTO event will see us hike the Glen Stewart Ravine, and explore the Woodbine Beach and Kew-Balmy Beach. We’ll socialize over coffee/tea at the end.
    📍 RSVP now

  2. Try a 30-Minute Tech-Free Nature Walk This Week
Pick a park, ravine, or waterfront trail that’s as close as possible to where you live. Leave your phone in your pocket or bag. Walk slowly. Observe the sights, sounds, and smells.

  3. Reflect Outdoors on What Truly Matters
Bring a journal or voice note app. Find a quiet natural spot and ask yourself:
    – What am I grateful for?
    – What am I seeking to accomplish this year?
    – What routines do I need to set in place?

If this message resonates, feel free to forward it to someone who could use a moment of pause this week.

Until next time,
Alex Rășcanu
