About Alex Rășcanu
I’m a senior executive and technology-focused leader dedicated to building organizations that use data, digital innovation, and community engagement to deliver meaningful impact. I currently serve as Director, Data Analytics and Digital Transformation at IGNITE, where I help strengthen organizational performance through evidence-based decision-making, scalable digital systems, and a people-first approach to innovation.
With over 15 years of cross-sector leadership experience across government, nonprofit, and high-growth private firms, I lead at the intersection of strategy, technology, and community building. My work focuses on aligning purpose-driven missions with operational excellence, as well as empowering teams, improving the client experience, and ensuring sustainable growth.
I am a member of the Chief Information Officers Association of Canada, hold a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Public Administration (Management) from Dalhousie University. These academic and professional foundations support my commitment to ethical leadership, strong governance, and systems thinking.
Beyond my professional work, I’m an active contributor to Toronto’s civic life. I host #ExperienceTO, a series of historical walking tours that connect residents with the city’s past and present, and I facilitate the virtual #LeadershipBookClub, where professionals gather to explore leadership principles and personal growth.
I also publish a weekly newsletter full of actionable life lessons.
